Facebook Campaign Idea - Healthy Choice (1)

Article:

Healthy Choice was looking to grow its Facebook fan base, increase engagement and reinforce the brand’s reputation for value. Knowing that the Healthy Choice consumer is a user of social media and interested in coupons, the brand introduced a progressive coupon on the Healthy Choice Facebook Page. The coupon began at a low value ($0.75 off) and increased as people “liked” the page and signed up for the coupon, ultimately reaching a “buy-one-get-one-free” deal.
The progressive coupon was supported through a variety of public relations tactics. The team conducted extensive outreach to coupon bloggers and individuals with whom the brand has built a relationship, purchased a Facebook ad and utilized the brand’s e-mail database to spread the word and encourage consumers to “like” the page and sign up for a coupon.
In just two weeks, the Healthy Choice Facebook page grew from 6,800 to nearly 60,000 fans, and the team distributed more than 50,000 buy-one-get-one-free coupons. The progressive coupon campaign also generated significant trade coverage, including an article in Brandweek.

Facebook Contest Idea - Name the Celeb

This one will be done by Social Hill ourselves soon-- basically, for each client we have a number of celebs... we could take X amount of celeb images for a particular client, cover their face and have people guess.  This could be done all at once, or have a celeb every day for a week or something like that and we randomly pick a winner out of correct entries.  No example for this, but here is screenshot of similar tool used on tmz:

Facebook Contest Idea - Caption Contest

Below is an example of a facebook caption contest run by Dunkin Donuts.  However, you can do this many ways including one that is just dealing with the client putting up one or several photos and then each entrant puts a caption to it and others vote.  The Dunkin Donuts is a bit different, but also useful, in that it has fans uploading their own images:

Article:

If you’re a Dunkin’ Donuts fan, you might like that prizes are themed for summer and include an iPhone, flatscreen TV, a summer wardrobe, and JetBlue flights. You also might get a kick out of your photo being featured on their profile.
Of course Dunkin’ Donuts is hoping that the campaign will inspire the masses on Facebook to help them spread the message that they’ve reintroduced the Vanilla Bean Coolatta, and reinforce their brand name and the Coolatta line of summer-appropriate beverages in general.
We think its certainly an interesting way to motivate Facebook members to promote their products and engage with their brand Page, but we’re a little curious why they left Twitter out of the mix. Dunkin’ Donuts has a solid presence on Twitter (@dunkindonuts has almost 23,000 followers), and a campaign of this nature would have the possibility to become a trending topic, which could be a huge boon for attracting more followers and attention.
Still the campaign’s focus on tying social media with offline experiences is a great way to immediately make their Facebook presence relevant to the bottom line.

Facebook Campaign Idea - Walmart

Article:
The key to Facebook, and any social network, is to keep pushing out content that your fans are interested in. Many businesses do a great job keeping their fans apprised of deals and discounts through status updates.
Another great way to keep content fresh and visual within Facebook is to promote special offers on a custom tab. This may be something new visitors see when they land on your Fan Page, or a rich destination you can link back to in a post.
Walgreens does it very simply. Their landing page is a nice branded splash image that simply touts their “Exclusive Offers for Our Facebook Fans.” Their promotions are in their updates, but this simple, static custom page encourages users to become fans without any bells or whistles. They leave the deals to the built-in functionality of Facebook, and your business can too.
By simply changing the image on your custom page, you can call attention to a new product or promotion that your fans will see whenever they land there. It’s an easy way to keep your page looking fresh, in addition to regular updates.

Facebook Contest Questions to Ask

When we run a Facebook Contest, you will need to ask some questions from the client before running:

  • Time range of the contest
  • The “poster” for the contest can be image, flash file, or video file, so need to choose
  • Can they make the poster, or do we need to?
  • require entrants to register? This primarily means should we make them entering their name and email before voting and/or voiting
  • What is the prize?
  • Have to “Like” to vote?  Highly recommended

Facebook Contest Overview

Our primary and most effective Facebook contest is called a “Group Competition” This is where 1 entry could involve a large amount of votes and "Likes".

For instance, a contest could involve entrants submitting a photo with a product, like “submit a photo with product X in different locations”.  Then, everyone who enters the contest votes on which photo they like the most.  Each person that puts in an entry would theoretically get all of their Facebook friends to vote, and the contest would require them to "Like" the page before.

Therefore, lots of new Likes.

This is text from the promo tool that we use about Group Competitions:

"If we are able to offer an attractive prize then we recommend creating group competitions. In a competition the participant must make some kind of contribution which will then be evaluated by means of voting or a jury, or a combination of both. The most regular competitions in facebook are those in which the user uploads a photo or video, answers a question, or writes a text. One type of competition that works very well in Easypromos is that in which the participant is required to send in a photo of a group of people; for example: “upload a photo of the last time you went out partying with your friends”. In this way, just one participation is likely to attract the attention of all the people who appear in the photograph, and thus there is a higher probability that the promotion will be distributed among the friends of the participant.
